Of all the network devices I've added to the home, this was the easiest to install. You take your existing WiFi router, unscrew the antennas, connect them to a booster, and then plug the booster into the router where your antennas used to be. Before I bought it, I had signal strength issues. I had occasional dropouts even though there wasn't much interference or distance between my router and my computers. I have to give Linksys credit: this booster *really* improved my network signal quality. Just not much. I tried other positions and moved the antenna, but the update really wasn't anything special. If this amp was about half the price of the one listed here (currently $81), I'd say it's almost worth the money. . However, if you really don't have network issues, do a lot of file transfers from one computer to another, or just insist on setting things up, you might want to drop this product and wait for a better wireless standard to upgrade, like 802.11g .
