Every winter in Maine, despite regular lotion, my right thumb gets very dry, so much so that it cracks at the tip. Ouch. I usually apply Neosporin and bandage it. I asked my dermatologist what to do to seal the incision and she said Crazy Glue works great! I was about to order something but then I saw this Gold Bond product. Perfect I thought! nope It does NOT fill any of the small or split cracks in my thumb and washes out right away, despite the "continue hand washing" promise on the packaging. "Precise tip" is a trick. It's basically petroleum jelly with a few other ingredients. However, I still give it three stars for thumb wetting, which it does very well. Perhaps if the crack and fissures heal, it will help prevent new ones from forming.
