Review on Thule Women's Capstone Atlantic Backpack for Hiking and Daypacks by Rachel Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quality hiking backpack

I recently planned to climb Mount Fuji (7 hours climb, for reference) and got this backpack from Prime for that purpose. In general, the bag is not bad. Size and capacity are excellent. I was able to fit a few gallons of water bottles, lots of snacks, three jackets, a raincoat, and flashlights without feeling like it took a lot of effort to squeeze everything in. There is also a small zipper at the base. Pocket that made it easier to access items packed below without having to rummage through the top. It was comfortable. In a humid climate, everything I wore indoors stayed dry and intact. The fabric of the bag is clearly of good quality and there is an extra rain cover to use if it starts to rain heavily. Likewise, I had no problems with zippers or buckles. The backpack itself was quite comfortable to wear. I'm a 5'4" female and I've been told the backpack looks a little weirdly large even after adjusting the main frame on the back of the backpack. But there weren't any complaints along the way. In fact, I'd say that almost anyone can use this backpack. There is nothing special about it that would make me think men wouldn't like it. My only complaint would be the lack of small pockets. The large compartment was not divided and the smaller pocket is at the entrance to the main opening still quite large.I had to bring plastic bags to keep flashlights and other small tools separate and easy to access. But other than that I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Minor issues
