This MERIWOOL Unisex Merino Wool Cuff Beanie Hat is soft, warm, and packable--perfect for backpacking/camping trips in early Spring and late Fall, or on unusually cool Summer evenings, when a hat like this can take the edge off a chilly breeze and/or add a few extra degrees of warmth to your sleep at night. I found that it fits a variety of heads snugly, from my average medium-adult-sized head to the considerably smaller head of my 7-year-old daughter. That's because the material is soft and stretchy enough to fit snugly, but without "digging into" your head uncomfortably. I did find that I had to cut the tags out of the hat because they are sewn in unusually low. Otherwise, everything about this hat was great, and while sleeping around the fire at night, I was able to fold the brim down to cover my eyes and ears to block out light, chilly air, and even dampen the surrounding noises of the forest a bit. It was great to sleep in and kept me noticeably warmer than I otherwise would have been on two consecutive 40-degree nights.
