Review on Stainless Steel Soap Lotion Replacement by Ricardo Thotti

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It could be better. Much better than the plastic original!

I bought two of these stainless steel pumps from Revain to replace the horrible pumps that came with lotion bottles. I'm sure many of you have had the same experience - you get a nice glass bottle for your bathroom or kitchen and the pump falls apart after a few weeks. Cheap "chrome" plastic. Strange. They're expensive, so I decided to try them out, thinking that the quality and durability might justify the price. Now I have two. One was a little disappointing to use; It seemed like it needed to be lubricated with oil to work properly and the matte finish immediately corroded. The second was better. Smoother to use and less corrosion. Mixed review. I believe that over time this will prove to be a good solution. They are much more solidly built than the ones I complained about above. As for the quality of stainless steel, I believe that high quality has become very rare for consumers. Most stainless steel products are now obviously threatened with planned obsolescence. They are not made of commercially available stainless steel. There are several true grades of stainless steel if you study them a little, and we're not going to get the best results from them. somewhere - at a ridiculous price. All in all, unless you're a perfectionist, they seem to serve you well and will likely last you for years.
