In general it seems a good phone. It's fast, the display looks good, and the UI is mostly okay too. The battery life seemed good to me, which is usually the most important thing for me. But on my phone, the notifications were seriously broken. I'd like to assume this will be fixed in an update at some point, but I wouldn't recommend buying it from July 2021 as it's still not working. The biggest problem I've encountered is the weather apps. If you activate the current notification options, they will appear on the lock screen and show the temperature in the upper left corner. Lock your phone and leave it there. For the next half hour or so all of these notifications will be closed for some reason instead of staying open and updating. I've tried this with 3 weather apps and they all do the same thing but work great on other phones. None of the tweaks I've found on the TCL phone fix this. Oddly enough, the built-in weather app that comes pre-installed isn't affected in any way either. So it looks like TCL really wants you to use their app and just kills everyone else.
