BICYCLE BELLS ARE A SAFE DEVICE FIRST, NOT A DECORATION, AND ALSO NEED TO BE MANUFACTURED. THIS IS NOT. IT IS CHEAPLY DESIGNED AND POORLY DEVELOPED. PLEASE IGNORE THE AMAZING REVIEWS. The bell looks and feels good and my granddaughter loves it, has one star but as others have said it should be louder. It would be difficult to hear that call from a moving car. The thumb-operated lever is made out of cheap, flexible plastic (see photo) and sticks in the fully extended position. The child has to pull it manually. This is not how a bicycle bell should work; The overall effect and purpose of the bell is compromised. You don't want a child fumbling with the bell when a vehicle approaches. I bought and installed it in May, drove it once a week, and now it's October and it's barely working. The photo shows light scratches on the bell body; The lever problem started before the bell broke, mostly right out of the box. I was looking for a quality product and would gladly pay a higher price for something good. Given the many, many AMAZING REVIEWS and the 4.5 rating, I actually thought this was a good product. It is not. It's a dangerously cheap security device. Too bad so many Revain product reviews are fake.
