Review on 🎧 Linsoul TIN HiFi T4: Premium Carbon Nanotube Dynamic Driver Earphones with Sleek Metal Housing and Silver-Plated MMCX Cable by Valerie Harper

Neutrality: now with a touch of soundtrack

Tin T4 is the latest in a line of affordable and worthy Tin Hifi in-ear headphones. Unlike the T2, which was a dual dynamic driver setup, and the T3, which was a 1 BA + 1 DD hybrid, the T4 are single dynamic driver headphones. How does that compare to Ting's other work, which costs almost twice as much? TL; DR - worth it. The familiar shape and build quality with Harman-esque tuning make for an above-average listening experience, especially at this price point. Packaging, assembly and accessories. The T4 comes in a medium sized black box. Almost as big as the crappy romance novels grandma reads. In this box you will find the headphones in a special recess, under which you will find your earbuds and cables. There is a leather carrying case (ett?) underneath the headphones. The unboxing isn't as unique as the older Tin models, but it's a lot more premium in my opinion. You will receive a full set of silicone tips and a pair of medium memory foam tips. Normal rate and everything is fine. I typically use memory foam tips with Tin products. case is nice too. It almost looks like a jewelry box and has a magnetic closure. The interior is made from a soft, suede-like material, and there's a mesh pocket on top to store things like headphones or a small key. There is a cable. Interesting. It is not like other tin cables. It has to be a coaxial design as there are only 2 visible conductors for the full length of the cable and although it is a smoky transparent color it is very rubbery and almost sticky to the touch. It doesn't seem to bend that easily and isn't a microphone, which is nice, but it's quite uncomfortable to the touch. By nature, this is a tank. There is an air vent inside to allow DD to breathe. This is an all metal construction. Aside from the potential issues with the MMCX, I expect they'll survive being hit by a car. But if you check it, then at your own risk and peril. Sound - Harman (like) setting. Enhanced bass, ear cup boost right where it should be, and unobtrusive yet detailed highs. It's not a technical definition of neutral, and I'm not sure if it's due to the tuning or some other driver trick or whatever, but unlike older Tin models, this model has a real soundstage out of your head! It's not that ultra wide or deep, but it's bigger than your ears. It no longer concentrates behind your eyes and between your ears. You don't get bass slam like BLON's BL-03 or bass resolution like MDR-EX1000 and you don't get detail. like a fit BA, but you get a fine, comfortable, competent all-rounder. It doesn't really sound bad with anything, and while it's not bass-driven headphones, it delivers a nice drone and clean tones at low frequencies. The mids sound normal to me, nothing particularly stands out and doesn't scream in the face, and the highs aren't sizzling, quite detailed. Conclusions - Tin T2 didn't hold me down. I found them audible, but by then I already had Massdrop Plus. I gave them to my buddies though because they were well built and neutral IEMs that were a decent all rounder for the price and provided a base to find the sound you prefer. The T4 offers a more colorful sound profile (did we say Harmanish?), the same amazing build quality, better accessories and an overall more complete package. I am actually leaving this couple. I go back and forth between this, BL-03 and Sony MH755 for my broken IEMs. While the T4 is at a different price point, it sounds (slightly) better than the MH755 and offers a much better build quality too. The BL-03 has such an odd fit, with downed terminals and an even lower quality cable, but it has very nice bass response and it's still all metal. Heck, I'll probably keep all 3. But the Tin T4 is a fantastic benchmark for its price and is fully competitive with other similarly priced headphones, and as is often the case with audiophile headphones, it's competitive with the things above it. this is the price range. It will not replace my Massdrop Plus, let alone my Campfire Andromeda. But I would prefer Fiio FH5 and Moondrop KXXS. What is Tin T4, a competent DD IEM, with decent technical skills and in my opinion a very pleasant system that makes you want to listen. Thank you for reading.
