Review on 🚗 Metra 99-5717 Taurus/Sable 04-07 Dash Kit: Upgrade & Enhance Your Car's Interior! by Bill Howard

So I bought this kit for my wife's 2007 Taurus. She commutes to work a lot and enjoys listening to podcasts and audio books on her MP3 player. I used to use the very popular PIE adapter. You can see it here:[.]However, TWO of these devices failed for me. On both devices, one of the channels just stopped working. Crutchfield will not replace them as they only have a 90 day guarantee. So I went in search of a more permanent and reliable solution. That's how I came across the Metra kit. I bought it for what I thought was a good price (under $70) and had a few Best Buy gift cards left over after Christmas, so I went online and bought a relatively cheap Pioneer head unit with a front AUX-in. Plate and rear RCA inputs. Installation was very easy, make sure you have a loop to pull out the stock head unit. Running the cables to the trunk was a breeze, and fitting the Pioneer HU into the Metra unit was actually very easy since everything was removed from the car. Overall the fit in the car is very snug and tight and everything works very well. The plastic it's made of doesn't match the original device, but then again I wasn't expecting a beautiful amazing device. I wanted functionality and this is it. Overall, I would recommend the Metra kit to ANYONE with a Taurus/Sable, along with an affordable aftermarket head unit. After all, his solid money was well spent.
