This meter has proved invaluable to me as a homeowner who loves doing my own electrical work and solving electrical problems with friends and family members. I can confirm that the meter is accurate enough for measurements that I can compare my Fluke 87-V to. If you understand electricity and the basic laws of resistance, this meter should be easy to use. Voltage drop across digital loads and impedance measurements for voltage, neutral and ground on a live circuit are very useful. In the event of voltage drops, these impedance values can help diagnose problems when routing the circuit toward the mains. Tripping tests for standard circuit breakers and GFCI circuit breakers can help determine if circuit breakers are failing or simply not tripping when they should. I want this meter to read the relative load on the circuit before doing any current load test. I believe the Ideal tester does this, but then again, it's $300. I find this Mastech accurate enough for DI who don't want to spend $300 on a gauge can only use it once a month or even less. The Mastech brand has been around for many years, which gives some credence to the potential longevity of this gauge. Overall, for the price, this is a quality buy.
