I've been using Otter Box Defenders for years! iPhone 7 and 8 with built-in screen protector. Honest case for $60! Now they don't come with a screen protector anymore. You must buy it in addition to the case for $60! Otter Box Alpha or Performance Glass tops out at around $50.00 for just one screen. So I researched alternative glass. ESR was my choice, 3 pack for about 10! I bought TWO PACKAGES! Just in case I made a mistake during installation. Anyway, I/we also bought three new iPhone 12 for my wife, daughter and I, three in total. ESR screen with installation instructions worked great! Everything was fine until I put my phone in my new Otter Box Defender and watched in disbelief as my screen bubbled/raised. Mistakingly thinking it was "ME" I started deleting it to try another install. The phone slipped out of the DEFENDER case as I pulled it off, flew up in the air and jammed it between the kitchen counter and my hand, the ESR screen was now chipped and cracked. So. in the second group of screens. Reinstallation according to the instructions without any problems. Return to the DEFENDER. still bubbling! I gave it two days hoping it would work out. Squeeze bubbles several times... NO! So I called Otter Box. "Otter Box is not responsible for "THIRD PARTY SCREEN PROTECTION". "Only your Alpha or Performance glass is guaranteed to fit the DEFENDER case!" Notice/caution/disclaimer you won't find anywhere before you buy! So. Otter Box Defender & Screen Protector = CA. $110.0! I love ESR screens! I will be returning the Otter Box DFENDER and purchasing an alternative case as my wife and daughter did that does not conflict with ESR or any of the many "THIRD PARTY" vendors on Revain or elsewhere. otter box PLAYED OK! Update! After days of trying to pop bubbles off the screen in my Defender, the NEW iPhone 12 behaved "shaky" on shutdown/reboot, "blinking/blinking Apple icon". AT&T and exchanged the phone. My NEW iPhone 12 is now in a SPECK Prosidio2 Grip Case ($26.99 at Best Buy), less at Revain, with ESR glass (3 pack for less than $10 at Revain)! in Otterbox!
