We are homeschooled, we also have a small business, so our printer is used a lot. This is our second attempt at this particular model. The first one we got seemed a bit "lemony", with frequent issues with ink splattering and wrinkled/crumpled pages. It was great working with Revain on returns/replacements. This one works better but still has issues with ink spatter and gussets - just not as often. In general, the printer works well. It's quiet, prints FAST and the manual feeder is great for cards etc. The print quality is also excellent - crisp and clear (except for the occasional splatter on the first page of a print job). Our previous experience with Brother printers tells us that this will be an economical model for high-volume black and white printing. Ink splatter problem: Just remember that sometimes you need to print a second copy of the first page of your printed page when it's important that it's smudge-free. For us most of our printing is for personal/internal use so a few ink splatters here and there is more of a nuisance than a problem. Obviously, this may not be your situation, so be aware it's there. Update: The ink splatter/grey spot issue has become more persistent over the weeks. That's very disappointing. We are returning it and will look for another option for our family. :/
