I have two of these: one for the audio interface and one to wrap around the tablet to keep. First let me say that the lever and clamping mechanism are well made of metal and very strong. I would give 5 stars if they weren't stingy in one spot. There are two ball joints. One is in the clip area (metal) and the other attaches to the tablet mount. The tablet holder is made of plastic but feels solid. But the ball joint that attaches to it is also plastic, and the plastic neck is the thinnest part. This is such that there are only metals! Also, this ball joint has thin plastic slots that make a loose joint even worse. This part should be metal and have 4 screws attaching to the plastic tablet bracket. So I'm worried that if you twist or twist the tablet or the audio interface, this new one will immediately break off. It doesn't exist yet and I remember it, but I'd pay a few bucks more if that part was metal. The rest of the hardware-to-hardware connection is pretty solid. This is still a very good tablet holder. I think only time will tell if it will stand the test of time and torque.
