If you own a Ridgeback, you know that rain is acid falling from the sky. After several days of continuous rain and a rain forecast for at least another week. My boy and I needed a solution. Petsmart and Petco are not their size and seem to be a bit more expensive. I have an 8 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback. It's pretty massive, so I needed something that fit well enough to use, but could also use us for at least a few more months as it grows without wasting arms and legs. I bought the largest size based on a few Dane mix reviews and I'm glad I did! It fits perfectly and can last through late spring/early summer (if it doesn't go through some Clifford the big ginger dog is jumping up and down). My dog is very deep chested (greyhound), thin and muscular. . It has a huge 22" neck and still has room when everything is zipped and snapped into place. The fleece lining is a great feature and my pup loves it! Putting on a jacket can be exhausting at times, depending on your mood and energy level, but treats or cheesy wisps tend to grab all the attention. First buckle up, then buckle up your jacket. Your life will be much easier when you have a wild puppy like me. He's not a fan of straps on his hind legs. The jacket seems to stay in the wind without them, so eventually they can be taken off. I haven't actually used a harness so can't comment on its reliability, but I like having it built in as a backup. I plan to buy again when I get my wife.
