Review on Minireen Twist Throttle Grips Clutch by Shug Quinn

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad, but not for a bike that will see a lot of dirt.

normal for a small children's bike, but nothing more. The grips feel solid but a bit stiff. In general they are of decent quality, especially for tge $; I don't like the throttle body assembly though. It's cheap and the clear plastic cover showing the red pulley doesn't seal, allowing water and dirt to get in. I definitely wouldn't recommend this if your bike is going to see a lot of dirt. I have used crf50 on honda. 2 issues with this bike: the standard rods are 3/4" instead of 7/8" and the throttle cable differs from stock in the way it attaches to the carburetor. The standard cable had a small clip holding it in the carburetor. There is nothing like that with the new cable. Tip if you need to install those 7/8 controls on 3/4" rods: I took a 3/4" EMT and cut it lengthwise with a cutoff wheel. After working with it a bit, it turned out to be the perfect "sleeve" for installing new controls.
