I have a Sony a7iii+ kit lens that tends to exceed the maximum weight this stabilizer can handle. This was my first gimbal and I had trouble setting it up. YouTube has a great guide that walks you through each step, but they use a smaller lens, but with the kit lens you run into other issues not covered in the video. My advice to you, don't strive for perfect balance on the first try - you'll get better as you keep using it. I almost gave up and ordered another one, but couldn't find another full frame mirrorless gimbal that was as portable and economical. After a few tries I went with it and it worked flawlessly. I uploaded a video that I filmed completely with this stabilizer. Besides customization, this stabilizer is perfect for your first DSLR stabilizer. Great stabilization and took my filmmaking skills to a whole new level.
