FAKE, - Seasonal Decor

I didn't want our tree to be 12 feet tall this year; So I decided to use it as a 9 foot tree. When I bought this base I thought it would be perfect because you can use it with a conical or round base insert. As you can see in the photos I only have two of the five tiers for my 12 foot tree. I didn't use a larger level because I didn't want to decorate a 12 foot tree this year. I put the next 2 levels and everything became normal. When my son put on the third step, he rocked back and fourth. I even tied the tree down with heavy duty straps and wrapped them around our wrought iron, very snug fit and everything was fine until I installed the 3rd row. A 12 foot balm tree is very heavy and believe me if I tried to use the tree as a 12 foot stand I am sure the tree would tip over. I carefully wrapped the tree to be on the safe side; but as soon as my son laid the third level, it was useless! I prepared a 9ft stand as I wanted to decorate this one. My Dan picked up a tree and it fell! I took a stand and made it fit a 12 foot tree and it wouldn't stand even after I secured it. So the stand is designed for very light wood. Much luck! I'm still sticking with this rack if it will hold my 8 foot tree in my bedroom it will probably weigh 1/5 the weight of our large tree. If the tree in my room doesn't last, then of course it's there. I'm so pissed!
