Review on ๐Ÿ“บ Maximize your Viewing Experience with BenQ CM00G3 Ceiling Mount by Shane Tomko

Assemble decently with caveats

After reading the reviews I knew I only needed 3 staples but the instructions were accurate except for that omission. I wish most companies in the Internet age would put quick installation videos on their websites. Everything went pretty well until the last step when I needed to attach the projector mount to the ceiling mount but only one of the three screw holes fit. high. Also, one hole didn't have a wrench at all. I ended up using two screws instead of three after using a drill to slightly open a hole on the outer bracket to line it up with the ceiling base. The mount looks strong enough for a toddler to swing on, so I won't deal with returns. I would pay particular attention to step 3C in the user manual where a screw needs to be screwed to the top cover of the projector. This bolt is the latch for the pan/unlatch mechanism, without which one reviewer said the projector could accidentally fall. My projector is mounted behind a 14" beam so I was concerned about getting the image high enough on the wall, but the mount allows enough flexibility to mount it at different angles. Update: Locking the image inside the screen frame was a little fiddly. Experienced. It took an extra pair of hands to hold the projector up, as the wiggling of the lock kept throwing the image out. There's a screw to fiddle with to make it less sensitive, but it takes some patience. I don't recommend skewing the projector for a pure HT setting as this can lead to keystone correction and white light overspray outside of your frame. Note that the mounting holes on the extension bracket are set at 2", 9.5", and 11.5".
