Review on Sound Storm DD988ACP CarPlay Multimedia by Erin Renee

I did a lot of research to find an upgrade for my touchscreen I bought just 2.5 months ago (Ankeway) that wasn't too expensive, had Apple CarPlay and sounded decent. When it arrived I was initially hesitant to install it due to the ridiculously short USB and Apple CarPlay interfaces, but I went along with it since it was in my possession. I'm glad I did! Despite the aforementioned shortcomings (no pun intended), I was pleasantly surprised and then IMPRESSED by the sound quality, user interface, and available features of this device. Having Apple CarPlay is bonus enough, but the sound quality this little device puts out is simply EXCELLENT! The interface is easy to use, navigating between screens and features doesn't interrupt the listening experience, and the deck's overall simplicity and the responsiveness of its touchscreen puts it in a class that rivals decks with significantly higher price tags or smaller features that have taken decades to develop they showed up. This unit has some subtle and obvious features that draw attention: this deck's higher power output is a feature that allows you to use this deck with fewer amplification devices for your front speaker configuration (without audiophile considerations), and the equalizer is more refined, with a wide range of tone controls. Of course you will find people thinking that my rating of this unit might be a lot higher than their liking, but then again, you're not spending $100 or more on a well-known brand that offers fewer features and doesn't sound as good as this deck does Dollar! The BANG FOR THE BUCK score is very high for this unit, and if you carefully choose an amp that can handle 80W peak input power, you'll be fine as long as you're not geared for competition. Worth the money and I like that fact. that it has a subwoofer RCA output.
