If this machine ran a little faster I would give it 5 stars. However, the speed is a minor annoyance, about 1/2 the speed of a regular standing model. The best features are that it doesn't take up any counter space and leaves a smooth lid and glass top. I've only been using it for a few weeks, so I can't comment on the battery life yet. When you need a new can opener, the only tough decision is color. I rated this opener 4 stars but downgraded it to 3 stars. When it was new it always worked. Ideal lids without corners and edges that can be put back on to store additional contents in the can. However, now it only works sometimes. I'm not sure what the problem is, other than the spindle looks like it's bent. It's very annoying waiting for him to rub over the can only to find out he didn't open it. That's the only reason I wouldn't recommend this opener.
