Update: I have yet to make any modifications to make it strong enough to be safe for my kitty , but after soaking it in catnip oil and letting it air out for a few weeks turns out my cat really loves this thing. And it looks pretty cool in space and not too intrusive in our human space. So I am increasing it to 3 stars. I still wish the bar was a foot longer and it could also come with one of those L brackets. If you buy it, be prepared to let it breathe. It smells like super plastic when it first comes out of the box and my cat didn't like it. In fact, this product is not high enough to touch the ceiling. I've read other reviews about brittleness but figured it wouldn't matter much because it's for a very small kitten. I had to put it on a yoga block for it to fit. It was still wobbly when everyone came out, so I did what one of the other reviewers said and got L brackets to attach it to the wall. My cat (who has been delighted with every other toy I got her) won't go anywhere near this thing though. It has been installed for a few days now but there is a strong plastic smell even throughout the room. I've spent the last two days repeatedly soaking it with catnip spray to no avail. I added other toys and a bell at the end of the sisal rope. She tries to climb up the smooth doors, but she can't get close either.
