Turns a Ryobi P700 work light into a headlight

At approximately 1/4 power consumption, this LED element emits a narrow, intense beam of light surrounded by a broader, low-intensity "glow" cone. Kind regards. Praiseworthy honestly, the effect is visible in the first photo provided. This is not a defect but a consequence of the configuration. Light is projected straight ahead from a square element on the front of the unit, while the bulb emits light in a 180° arc, which is then narrowed by the reflective cone characteristic of traditional emitters. It is estimated without measurement that the intense jet is about 1 to 2 feet in diameter at a distance of 10 feet. At a height of 50 feet, about 10 feet in diameter at almost daylight intensity. Whether it remains useful as task lighting depends on the nature of the work and the preferences of the worker. When working under a sink, the jet can be too narrow and intense. It would be ideal to search the last 40 for escaped prisoners. The incandescent and LED are easy to change, so I leave the incandescent bulb for use when a wider, less intense field of illumination is more appropriate (like in a kitchen sink). If the LED scheme suits your needs, I would recommend it for the combination of intensity and 3-4 times longer battery life. I deduct 1 star because of the significant functional change of the P700 with built-in LED element. Otherwise recommended.

Pros
  • 💡 BRIGHT LED LIGHT. Light your way with pure white light and a high output of 201 lumens from this LED flashlight, in contrast to the dull yellow of incandescent bulbs.
