I didn't read the instructions carefully at first and would recommend you do so as the first night I used it was a bit disastrous. I won't go into that. Just read the instructions. So I read the directions for the second night. Creates a beautiful mist. I appreciated it so much because I live in a very dry climate and wake up with a parched throat! I gave it four stars instead of five because it's a bit clumsy to use as an instrument and I've struggled with leaks here and there. just because it's not that easy to use. I hope that once I get the hang of it I won't have any leaks or drip issues. The directions could be a bit clearer. This contrasts with its very slim design. I love that it fits easily on my bedside table and produces really nice, luscious mist for hours. I started with distilled water. I always neglect that with gists and moisturizers. Accumulation of a large amount of lime. Limescale can be removed with a vinegar solution in water. Nothing else is stated in the instructions. It also seemed to me that using distilled water produces a very fresh, odorless mist.
