My lesson from first use is that I need two people - one holding the folded paper, the other fluffing it up - and placing the attached thread in the middle like the instructions say , was a mistake. Each ball is fluffed up on one side, forming one hemisphere and then the other. In my experience, the second hemisphere has always been smaller because the paper folds were kept tighter (and therefore less accessible) in the middle than when the first was fluffed up Part. I highly recommend positioning the string 1 inch off center and pulling up on the shorter end first. Another thing to consider is that these decorations cast shadows on the walls, so you can place them further away. I hope it helps.
