Review on πŸ”§ K&L Supply 18-4150 Fuel Petcock: Exceptional Quality and Performance by Gene Taylor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

All in all a very attractive product, however the supplied nut does not or does not fit on the tank threads, nor does the original nut.

Wrong nut included but other than that the product was as expected. The nut that came with it had a new seal and fitted to the faucet threads (left hand side on these bikes and also on this faucet) but did not fit well enough onto the tank threads to create a fuel-tight seal (in other words, it poured Gas almost everywhere, luckily he was out for a while before I could get back to him and figure out the problem). I solved this problem by reusing an old nut from an old faucet. The faucet itself was leaking on my old one so this faucet replaces it and solves that problem. The manual faucet is quite difficult to turn, but nothing is impossible or seems unnatural (I'm sure it was hard to turn the original faucet when the bike was new). It's also quite shiny, which is nice and gives a clean look to the side of your aquarium. If you're remodeling your tank, consider this faucet (but keep the old nut) to complete the look (although you may need to polish the old nut, it's better than the whole faucet with all those nooks and crannies to polish). Overall, a star off for a broken nut, but I love the shine, the easy to read text on the dial (STOP/ON/RES) and the raised FUEL lettering on the lever. Also, the stock tube isn't a metal mesh like the old ones (which was a problem because it was very fragile); This faucet contains a plastic strainer which can be removed for cleaning if required (but never operate without the strainer as this will allow debris, dirt or contaminants to bypass the very first and therefore very important filter between the fuel and the fuel). carburetor).
