Works great for dogs

Every few months I have to buy this from Amazon to keep going until my monthly Purina for Professionals order arrives. I put my 9 week old Greyhound puppy on it as soon as I got him and he did great. Due to his size/height and to reduce the risk of bloat, he is now 1 year old, weighs 82 pounds and is fed 1.25 cups of dry food and 1/4-1/2 cans of wet food about 6 times a day. food version. He is doing well and, depending on growth/metabolism, he gets puppy food for at least 14 months, possibly 2 years. Adult greyhounds eat less, but in most cases a higher calorie food that offers the least volume possible is ideal for preventing bloating in deep-chested dogs. Please note that as a veterinarian I am often asked about flatulence although it has been a little less than 10-20 years. So far, the ONLY predisposing factor we have confirmed is genetics: if a parent or direct sibling suffers from bloat, there is a much higher chance that a given dog will have the condition. Eating more and avoiding activity DOES NOT reduce the risk of bloating! In a recent study, dogs were taken and fed in large portions, and then some of them were placed in cages while the rest roamed free. Those who were not placed in boxes had less bloating. So we obviously don't have all the answers, but it makes sense not to have them put large amounts of food and water in their stomachs at the same time. Because bloating is severe and can quickly lead to GDV which is fatal within hours, emergency care for excessive drooling, abdominal enlargement, vomiting/diarrhea, etc. is a must! Only! Feel free to assess your pet's physical condition and remember that growing puppies will need and eat more food weekly to meet their calorie needs.
