I have purchased Maxonar 16' and 32' LED strips. Last night I tested the 32ft rental model to show my kids the different lights. After a while they got very hot and started burning the strip and melting the plastic roller. Maybe it was just because they were all together? Or just this role? I really want them to work. The advantages I've found are that they easily connect to the Smart Things app and through it to Alexa. And in the Alexa app, I was able to easily set the operation to turn on the light, dim/bright, as well as color at a specific time and day. This is cool as I will be using them as mood lighting for my home office and there are two hours a day when I am focused on calls and don't want to be disturbed. So I ran a routine to put Alexa on Do Not Disturb and change the color and brightness of the strands to indicate I was in that zone. The rating will be updated as I test other strands.
