Additional entertainment while social distancing

California is currently in a state of emergency - staying home has been a little scary and boring. So today we sat down with my 5 year old and decided to install them in his bedroom to make something special for him. He's got a custom made car bed and those LED lights really make it look amazing! The sticky backing sticks very well to the inside of the wood panels and makes the car look like it's driving through the city streets. The best part is that it can control remotely, and we can use…

These lights are freaking cool!

My wife was hesitant when I told her I was going to buy decorative LED strips. So I bought them anyway and installed them without their knowledge as I'm working from home due to COVID-19. I have to say this thing is amazing. Starting with delivery, packaging, quality materials, ease of installation, included accessories, form and function. I was able to sync it with both my Google Home, Amazon Alexa and my phone. It currently syncs with work when I say "Netflix and Chill" to my smart home…

Maxonar 1, My Purse – $44.90.

Recently purchased. Light strip of decent quality. However, the Wi-Fi controller is a big problem. Apparently failed on my purchased set. Resetting the settings through the application did not solve the problem. The problem is cheap hardware. The controller also gets very hot. I contacted the seller through their e-portal on their website. This was the only place I was able to contact Maxonar. If you click on their website, there are a few snippets of links (to Twitter for example). Everything…

Worth every penny Good for seasonal lighting

I bought 2 different LED strips at different prices. I bought it to align with the back of my projector screen and be able to control it remotely over Wi-Fi. The WiFi LED strip shines a lot brighter than the other one I bought and the case feels more protective. This is a high quality LED strip and I would buy it again. Update: 01/12/2020 I've finally added a light to the back of my projection screen and am controlling it with my Google Home. I will most likely buy more to cover my entire room.

The app sucks the soul out of your phone's battery

If there was a way to use this with a standard bluetooth remote the product would get 5 stars. The fact that you need an app to connect to Alexa is one thing, but a) I don't use Alexa or Google Voice and b) this app drains my phone's battery badly. Add this to youtube, youtube music and other various used apps that require GPS, it will suck your phone dry so keep that in mind. Adhesion says 3M, 1 strip already falls off, another whole strip of adhesive came off along with peeling off the 3M…

Overheated and melted, but great integration with Alexa.

I have purchased Maxonar 16' and 32' LED strips. Last night I tested the 32ft rental model to show my kids the different lights. After a while they got very hot and started burning the strip and melting the plastic roller. Maybe it was just because they were all together? Or just this role? I really want them to work. The advantages I've found are that they easily connect to the Smart Things app and through it to Alexa. And in the Alexa app, I was able to easily set the operation to turn on the

Used returns are sold as NEW, broken and untested.

This was one of the worst products I have ever bought. I bought this for our new kitchen renovation and didn't open it straight away, I waited 34 days, gross mistake on my part! 4 days have passed since the return date. The photos are exactly how I received the LED strip. I haven't rolled it out yet. Immediately after unpacking, the strip was literally broken in 3 places, bent and twisted in several more. The tacky adhesive on the back is completely gone and it looks like someone has already…

Disappointed overall :/

Bought two of these for my room and wasn't happy, wish I'd done more research and spent my $90 elsewhere. First, there's no remote control, even though they're sold as cordless LED light strips. I think they should include one with multiple colors/settings if there are network connection issues. Which brings me to the next point. Connecting to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi was the biggest issue in my back end. Xfinity doesn't seem to allow some clients to use 2.4GHz channels, which is why I'm stuck at…

Potentially Low Rated Product

Update 1-16-21: Well after about 6 months the beginning of the kitchen bar has lost about half the brightness of the blue LEDs so that part now looks yellow. Then last week we had a power outage and the power went out. They were behind a surge protector so "shouldn't" be a problem, but apparently it was. As it turns out, color in the kitchen is more of a gimmick for our home, so I'm switching to pure white anyway. The one in the office still works perfectly. The rating has changed from 5 to 4…
