Works for general reference. received these 2 packages and with them side by side they both read differently. Not far off other thermometers I have, but don't expect accuracy (Rate ID +/- 3-5*F). I took them mainly to measure humidity. Of course, as the arrow starts turning from green to red, I notice my nose starting to dry up/dry up in my throat. Running a humidifier in a closed bedroom at night will actually raise the humidity to the green mark (and no more dry mouth/throat!). I don't know if the percentage is even accurate, but it's probably close. Anyway, very light, very cheap feel. It would be easy enough to attach a magnet or self-adhesive foam tape to it, FYI.
