The wooden seat is quite hard. They are quite well made, but not good value for money.

These bar stools are beautiful and simple. They consist of three main parts (two metal legs and a solid wood seat) and lots of screws. The instructions are pretty simple. If you want to sit on it for a long time, you can buy a cushion to walk on as the wooden seat is quite firm. I wouldn't say they cost $160 for two. Because they are not particularly pretty and not particularly comfortable, especially since they have no back. They seem sturdy and simple and easy to assemble.
