So I finally got the TCL 10 Pro from Revain. I won't waste time with a full review or anything like that. There are many YouTube reviews of this. I'm just explaining the reasons I'm sending it back to Revain. First, the cameras are REALLY average. And that's probably generosity. They have so little detail and the images come out so soft it looks like a watercolor. I took a few shots of the bricks on my fireplace with this phone and they came out almost entirely smooth with no texture. I took a few shots with the AI on and off, in 64MP mode, and in Auto and Pro modes. I have to go back a bit to say that I've used LOTS of phones and I actually have quite a few because I love switching them. I have flagships like Samsung Note 10, OnePlus 7 Pro and Google Pixel 3 so I know what good photos can be. BUT, I also have a few mid-range and budget phones. Lately my daily driver has been the Xiaomi Note 9S. A $250 phone with better specs than this $450 TCL 10 Pro (minus the LCD screen instead of Amoled). The Note 9S takes AMAZING pictures compared to this phone! Crazy how day and night they are. The Note 9S has better colors, a lot more detail, better dynamic range, etc. And it's $200 less. I take a lot of photos and selfies and that is the main reason I am returning this photo. I actually installed several different versions of GCAM, and even with GCAM installed, the images weren't much better than the stock camera app. So that was a bit disappointing too. Also, the NXT Vision feature is crazy. When you have it on, it's constantly playing around with the screen's brightness, saturation, and color. If you take a picture and go to the gallery, it will ruin the color in your photos AFTER you take them. The only way to see what your image REALLY looks like is to just turn it off, which is what I did. But then you won't get any improvements to the videos you're watching until you go back and turn it back on. Either way, the phone looks, feels and is built like a flagship. It has a beautiful screen. And if you don't care about photos or the camera, then go for it. But as I said, you get more phone for the money that takes better pictures. I know the Xiaomi Note 9S may not have 100% LTE band coverage in the US (I live in New Jersey), but I do have LTE coverage and use T-Mobile. I would have preferred the Note 9S to the TCL 10 Pro any day of the week. It's $200 cheaper, has an SD 730, and takes better pictures. I'm not saying you should buy one or trying to convince you that you should, I'm just saying that you can get the best phones for the money by shopping around. Heck, you can get last year's flagships for less and they have much better specs and take better photos.
