I am writing this about three months after meeting our dog. He got a good injection right in the face and unfortunately ended up in the house. A skunk's initial smell is so different from the stinky weed smell you hear from the street. We thought he ate rat poison, tried to wash it off and got it on our hands and all over the house. There is no silver bullet to get rid of this. Hydrogen Peroxide/Dawn Treader/Baking Soda work a little. The miracle of nature also works a little. I think the direct morning baths helped. Don't get carried away with tomato juice. Skunk off performs moderately well under the proverbial kitchen sink, which doesn't help much. It works by cutting off some of the skunk's actual scent, but also masking it with its own scent. It smells like one of the less nasty urinals. We've used it on sofas and rugs and bathed our dog in it a few times. This reduced the odor by about 30 percent each time. The lingering Skunk smell started to fade after about three weeks. Our dog still stinks when you sniff his head or wet him. The downside is that some items still retain the smell of the "Skunk" product. I wiped some of the guitar off with a paper towel that I accidentally touched and I still smell it on my fingers when I play it. Better than Skunk, but looking back I think I would let things that weren't so bad air out for a month before using the product. This is probably the only one I would recommend buying from experience. The spray bottle sucks, so buy in bulk and get your own sprayers. If you have hydrogen peroxide/baking soda/twilight try this too. To be honest it takes a lot longer than you would like to get rid of the smell. With God and good luck.
