Formula changed = burning pain

6/19/20 update: yes. Dry, burning, sore skin was definitely the "new formula." The only product I changed was the Simple Truth Face Moisturizer in Lavender Orange. It's a very light cream and not an oil. Light fragrance, no burning, instantly relieves dryness. I'm sorry Bert's Bees. I have used many products regularly for many years. I really didn't want to switch to anything else but you changed something good and it actually burned me and hurt me a lot. As my grandma used to say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." and also "leave well enough alone". Update 3/14/20, 1 year later: I'm sorry to say I believe the 'new formula' is causing burns and significant discomfort. hands, eyes, lips, face. Dry and sore. I don't know what changed about Bert and when exactly, but the fact remains: I've been using it for a year now and at first it was soothing and moisturizing; But lately my face is always like I have a chemical burn. Or a very strong windburn. As a child I used acne products with salicylic acid and the discomfort with these products was just that. Very sensitive, dry, burned, painful. Sensitive as in: I wiped my face with a paper towel and the postoperative pain was like sunburn. The "fine lines" it's supposed to help with are actually a lot worse from drying and burning. Before using this, I used regular, pure, virgin, organic coconut oil. I was constantly praised for my looks and youthful skin. Now everyone asks me why I look so tired or feel sick. Excellent. I don't use any other products so I can't even blame anyone else for that. In any case. I'm sorry I had to stop using this Burts oil because I've really gotten used to its smell. In the last 18 hours I've gone back to my coconut oil. The pain has subsided, but it will take time to repair the damage. ************************ Update, 2 months later. I got used to the smell and now I like it. I mainly used it around the eyes. I didn't take a 'before' photo to compare with now, so I can't say it fixes any flaws. BUT I've noticed an improvement in my light, thin brows and lashes. I don't know if this was the result I was expecting, but they seem fatter and healthier. Also, I ran out about half the bottle but refilled it with organic fractionated coconut oil. It still feels very light and comfortable and has no noticeable effect on smell.******************************* ***** ********* Update, in 3 days. I say it for that. The smell, although pungent at first, quickly disappears. For an "oil," it also doesn't leave the skin oily. It is definitely best to use when not going out or before bed. I wouldn't use it right before applying makeup. I like it around my eyes in this cold dry winter weather. Overall I added 2 stars to my original post. I'd like a sweeter smell, but I'd prefer a natural, albeit less pleasant, smell than flavoring anything. Based on results and experience, I still prefer organic virgin coconut oil for everyday use. ****************************** *** ***** * Original: It arrived today and I give products like this at least 4 weeks to see results. I don't know if I'll last that long, this thing smells VERY strong, like an old man's aftershave.
