Review on HUION H610X Chromebook Supported Battery Free by Tiger Carpani

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive mid-size tablet

This strangely named Inspiroy H610X from Huion is the latest in the budget tablet lineup. It has a 10" x 6.25 active area, 8192 levels of pressure and tilt sensitivity in the battery-free pen, and multiple quick-evaluation buttons on the side. It comes with a cable that's actually USB A, but it comes with a USB A- to-C adapter supplied for newer laptops. It's fairly light at about 1lb and quite thin which actually makes it quite portable. It also seems pretty tough. In comparison my SO uses tablets for work so I have Wacom Intuos, Wacom Cintiq and a tablet PC with Wacom technology. Their assessment was "everything is fine". THE ADHESION The surface of the tablet is slightly rough, but still feels smoother than paper. There is a slight Resistance on the pen although I would have preferred a slightly rougher surface and more resistance to be closer to the paper Although it's pretty good The stylus has two buttons on the body but the pen is lighter than you'd like - zi Consider a cheap ballpoint pen. In comparison, it seems to be lighter than the Apple Pencil. There's also no eraser at the end, but that doesn't really matter with the buttons on the case and tablet. SOFTWARE Huion's software looks good and has the features you need - the ability to change the pressure curve, change the buttons on the pen body and map the buttons on the tablet. The stylus worked well in Photoshop for both pressure and tilt. I tested it on Windows 10. CONCLUSION At around $70, this is a great inexpensive tablet that will serve an artist well, or just take notes or sign documents. It looks just as good as Wacom's lower-end models at a much better price. My complaints are relatively minor - I wish the grip was a little heavier and the surface could be a little rougher - but for the price you can't get much better in my opinion. And my CO, who works professionally with tablets, says "everything is fine".
