Not great for backpack straps
The socket side doesn't have a second friction bar to keep it from sliding along the strap. Makes it so an tension on the strap is released unless the socket strap side is looped and fastened to itself. I used a safety pin to make a loop for it on my backpack and it work fine. The male side stays put relatively well.
