I had a lid holder on the cupboard door that I could only put a lid on. I decided to remove this and put all my cutting boards in it instead to make a much better use of the space! The width of the base cabinet is 18 inches, the width of the door itself is 15.5 inches. I didn't need a very deep bracket as I have a drawer at the bottom of the closet, there isn't much free space in front of it. This shelf isn't as deep as others I've looked at. I also needed something big enough for the big boards, it was perfect on both counts. Now it's so easy to find what I need instead of stuffing them all next to the drawer. Looks solid, very satisfied.
