We have two dogs and they always want to cuddle. The problem is her nails. Our sofa is made of suede and scratches easily. Before this purchase, we were constantly stuffing cheap blankets into pillows to protect our sofa. They fit perfectly on our sofa. They feel great. They stay in place MUCH better than our cheap comforters. The dog coat test also passes. Hair easily detaches from the cover when cleaning. In terms of durability I give them 5 stars based on how they feel. They seem thick enough to avoid scratches and tears. My dogs don't get rude on the couch, so tears never bother me. If you have pets that struggle on the couch, they may not be able to handle it either. The only reason our scratching posts are is because a dog weighs 80 pounds and it's not their fault if they climb up on the couch. Another weighs 15 pounds and burns out on the couch when excited. All in all, I definitely recommend this product!
