Review on Outdoor Case Flexible Mount Dropcam Camera & Photo by Tammy Freeman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Unsealed, can't access SD card, doesn't match Yi

This was listed in the title and description as having the Yi home camera (of which I own two), but the camera is a bit too small and causes problems. Since I ordered it they seem to have removed mention of its compatibility. More importantly, there is no rubber gasket between the two halves of the case, no matter what camera you use. If installed outside of the elements, it will fill with moisture. Consider coating the seams with glue or caulk to prevent this. Another problem is that my Yi camera stores all videos on the built-in SD card, which I have to remove if I want to upload high-quality original footage. Once installed, in this case there is no way to access this map without deleting and deleting everything. That's why I decided not to use it. Although almost identical to the Socket Cam, the Yi is slightly shallower in depth and therefore doesn't touch the front foam and back of the body and floats inside. This is probably why some had issues with IR LED reflections. Maybe you could put some foam or something in there to keep it safe in front.
