For round bar weight distribution couplers

This review is for the Husky Spring Bar Retainer (SPR) kit which holds the balance bars in the alignment bar coupler and this SPR. My clip broke because the head of the drive screw broke off while turning with my RV. I don't know what brand I have (it's a round bar weight distribution hitch) so I ordered them because they looked exactly like the ones I have on my hitch. The SPR kit came from "4 Wheel Online" very quickly (3 days). It comes with 2 spring clips, 2 locking pins (to hold the balance bars in place), 2 drive screws (to hold the spring clips in place) and simple instructions. You will need a hammer, 1/8" punch and chisel (IF you want to remove the drive bolt head. Otherwise you don't need a chisel. The shaft is already broken). very simple and easy. Use a chisel to remove the old spring clip and locking pin to remove the drive screw head. Then, use an 1/8-inch punch to drive the remainder of the sheared drive bolt all the way through and out of the leveler bar mounting hole. With a hole punch, NO DRILLING IS NECESSARY! The new drive bolt didn't exactly match the previous drive bolt hole on my hitch, so I drilled a SMALL hole in the bottom of the spring clip (ONLY the spring clip!) with a bit next to the size of the spring clamp hole itself. . I inserted the stop pin into the "V" spring clip (make sure the stop pin is properly seated in the "V"), inserted the stop pin into the stop pin hole on the hitch (oil first before inserting) and straightened then out a slightly enlarged hole on the spring clip with the drive screw hole and use a hammer to drive the drive screw all the way in. Did! The clip is a bit tight and difficult to put on, but it doesn't let my EQ fall out. So true! From start to finish, installing a spring clip took about 20 minutes! The SPR comes with a 10-year Husky warranty.
