I was happy to use this straightener because a few years ago I went to a salon where they used this brand on my hair and made it nice and straight. They sold them at their salon for the same price I bought this one for, but the one the stylist used on my hair had a pad on the sides of the blades. However, this one didn't have the pillow I was looking forward to because the pillow seemed to help grip my hair when it was straightened. I have thick thick hair and the flat iron didn't work on me. Temperatures only climb to 410 degrees Fahrenheit and I feel like I need at least 425 degrees Fahrenheit to really straighten my hair. I don't like repeating this more than twice to get the straight hair I want and on this one I had to do it more than twice per section. This straightener may work better on finer hair.
