Blown license plate light in the bumper, bought the bulb but still doesn't work. I noticed a lot of corrosion in the socket, removed the socket and noticed more corrosion on the other side of the socket, the socket is too deep to get a good angle to clean with a wire brush so I looked for it. Installation took about 3 minutes, basically trying to pry back the clip holding the socket, needed a flathead screwdriver to pry it back, then actually had to slide the socket back without pulling on the wires. I put in a new outlet, reinstalled the lightbulb and the light magic worked! I can't be happier. Now one less excuse than the cop having to stop me. I think I'll use the spare socket for another light source as I'm sure it's rusted too then I don't have to worry.
