In the picture I think it's a kitten in a hammock. I can honestly say I don't think I would personally put a kitten in a hammock and figured it would be better to put a ferret or rat in for comparison to better show the size. but as far as my house rats go, I can easily put several of my smaller females in one, as well as 1-2 of my larger males. The hammocks are sturdy and the metal clips on them come in very handy as my rats like to chew on the plastic clips that come with some hammocks. Overall very happy with the two I've bought and will most likely be buying more in the future!
