This fixes the "focal dead zone " issue on my computer screen

I've reached the age where my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I've been myopic my whole life and as a programmer, being able to see my computer screens is extremely important to me. Now the problem is that when I put the glasses on I sit too close and when I take them off I'm too far away ("focal dead zone"). I didn't feel like progressive lenses would solve my problem as I want to be able to see the entire screen sharply without tilting my head. I borrowed my wife's reading glasses and wore them over my regular glasses, which worked but were just plain ridiculous. Then I saw them online, ordered them and they did their job. Now I can sit comfortably at my desk and see the screen clearly. I rarely twist them up and down and mostly just clip them onto a simple spring loaded clip to attach/detach as needed. They add a little weight but I didn't feel uncomfortable. They are not designed for heavy use so I will be careful with the lenses and put them in a case when not in use. There are two handles that extend down and clamp the lenses of your glasses on either side of the nose support (see photo). They're visible in the corners of your field of vision, but that didn't bother me overly.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
