I originally had these cases for my Joycon and Nintendo Switch. I didn't really like them so I gave them to my girlfriend and not only could she NOT use them but she actually really liked them AND she added some art to them with beads and stickers on the bottom. I gave her protection in spring 2020 and they still look fresh and shiny as you can see. The protective covers of the joycon are two-part and do not feel flimsy at all. However, she told me that they are very difficult to remove. I'm not sure myself as I haven't had her for a long time, but I take her word for it. She is very clumsy and has dropped her rod on the wooden floor. No scratches so far and the beads she glued on are holding up well too. Overall, I recommend this, but mainly for people who don't want to wear a armband or often drop their Nintendo Switch/Joycon. frequently.
