I bought this stereo in Malaysia in the last 2 weeks for about $110. It's not a "hunting" technique just because smartphones have taken over the audio entertainment role. Maybe. Pros: - Robust 5-in-1 integrated stereo system - CDA/CD MP3 player, cassette deck, digital FM/AM tuner, large USB MP3 player and external audio input for connecting to phones or other devices. Music input - two-way stereo speakers. Each tweeter features a separate tweeter for rich sound clarity. Full-size remote control, high-quality workmanship, like the Japanese brand of the 90s. Radio tuner circuit with good sensitivity compared to my old Philips micro component. Easy to program transmitters, just 3 steps. The CD tray is a slide-out mechanism that makes it convenient and does not require the user to push/pull the CD using a rotary handle like a top-loading CD player.- All the main functions are on the user panel worked without a remote control. The tactile buttons are very pleasant to the touch, really reminding me of the quality of a stereo from the 80's and 90's before a cheap Chinese product swept it off the market. - The tape recorder fulfilled its function as it is. The preamp has better sound clarity than I expected from this boombox - Sound Virtualizer - Artificial surround mode for all media types - 4 types of preset EQ; Heavy, Vocal, Soft, Clear and EQ off. In addition, it has a manual custom BASS TREBLE setting, which I find preferable for rich bass and clarity. Batteries LR4 for mains operation. This stereo player has a fairly loud sound output. I didn't believe the nominal RMS power gave a very loud and consistent sound than I expected. RDS.- The bass is not that noticeable even at very high settings. It has a very large amplifier power, but the sound quality is only average. - Sound Virtuallizer feature is not a good kind of DSP for low quality mp3 audio, some mp3 tracks suffer from whirlwind noise. - User's preset radio stations and EQ manual memory has been saved as volatile memory. This means that all of these settings disappear when the power is turned off, but it has a battery to save memory to avoid this problem. All in all, this is a great boombox! When trying to turn the volume up to 30 and ++ I found that the bass is there now! For a songtrack that naturally has a few dB+ bands of 100-160Hz EQ, this machine shows solid bass. The best medium for rich bass-treble sound is playback through a CD player, definitely because the uncompressed format holds up so well (manual EQ set).
