This extra soft car towel will not scratch the paintwork. To be honest, the amount of water it can hold is incredible. Basically, I can use this towel to dry my small Corolla hatchback in one go, no wringing required. I have a second microfiber dryer sheet that also doesn't absorb moisture and I use that to absorb small residual drips. It's not big enough to hold all the water when I'm drying my wife's large SUV, and it's a bit difficult to wring out once it's soaked. I'd say you lose about half the absorbency after it's saturated and wrung out. So if you frequently wash large SUVs or trucks, consider buying 2 as they work much better when dry. Overall, this towel is still a big upgrade over the old bath towel or cheaper microfiber towels.
