Trying the lens on two bodies it became clear that the aperture ring was not working. Something internal failed to connect. Was very annoyed and just wanted to send the lens back. That's what I've decided, fuck it. I'm going to disassemble the lens and fix it myself as I was planning to take it on a trip this weekend and don't want to wait for a replacement. Spent a little over an hour trying to resolve the issue. The lens is now working properly. It's just a little annoying that it came out that way.
