Works well over a wide range of voltages
I am using the bulbs here in a railroad car with a 34 volt DC system connected to "shore power". I also checked the bulbs from 12 to 36 volts. The brightness stays the same as it has a tiny ballast at the base. DC polarity doesn't matter either.
