Review on πŸ”§ 3M 08609 Window-Weld Super Fast Urethane Sealant - Black - 10.5 fl oz. by Brett Kolpack

Highly recommended! Some hints.

I have recently used this product in conjunction with 3M Primer 08682 and Audi TT rear window repair clips. Thank you to everyone from previous reviews who provided step-by-step instructions! For those who want to try this fix, please read the previous posts first. I have a few thoughts that might be helpful for those who are using these two products for the first time. This review is from the perspective of someone who has never used any of these products and has no experience with auto and body repairs: 1) Gloves (many needed during repair) are ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED. Be prepared to change them frequently when working with primer and windo-weld. Also wear clothes that you don't care about. To throw away after a project 2) Both the primer and the windseam are black (surprising to me as nobody has mentioned this in other reviews) and both have the ability to reach ANYTHING if you're not careful. The primer in particular is the consistency of water and very easy to spill/click etc. Just be very careful and place rags and masking tape on any surfaces you do not wish to have the product in contact with. 3) Preparing the glass and canvas (wiping off the old glue/cleaning), taping it off, and waiting the glue for the proper time to cure after it's removed from the elements is critical to success. 4) This is a two person job in my opinion. One is on the outside which positions and tightens the clips while the other on the inside holds the window in place for over 10 minutes while the adhesive initially sets previous reviews5) Locate this product on the 3M website by adhesive curing time versus time, temperature and relative humidity. 6) Based on my experience with this project, I would recommend trimming off any excess glue within a few hours of application. My rear window stays sealed after the repair. Recommend this product and primer for effectiveness!
