The buckle didn’t last me a day. It didn’t break or anything, but I ended up taking it back off of my belt after less than a day of use.The buckle was intended to replace a cheap Wish belt buckle made of flimsy plastic. I’m worried it’s going to break but it’s been holding up so far. The hope was to replace it with a metal buckle. The part of the buckle that grips the flat end of the belt works fine. The teeth bite in well and it seems to lock in well. The problem comes in with the buckle part. The buckle doesn’t lock down confidently. The first time I buckled it, I accidentally released it again. I discovered it’s super easy to pop it back open. I decided to see if it would hold through my use, though, so I rebuckled and left it.Later in the day I put my gun holster on the belt with the gun and buckled the belt up. As I was preparing my dogs for a walk, the weight of the gun apparently was enough to pop open the belt and it came loose, requiring me to catch it. It’s definitely not safe for carrying a gun.Ultimately, at that moment, I took the buckle back off of the belt and put the Wish cheap plastic buckle back on. A super cheap flimsy buckle may be more prone to break at some point, but it keeps closed substantially better than this buckle.
